Technical Project Manager (plant decommissioning)

Our Client has several high-tech chemical and pharmaceutical production sites in the Kempen region.  Due to the sale of certain product lines, one of their facilities has to be gradually decommissioned.  Certain production lines are being transfered to other sites, some will be used for spare parts and hence storaged, others will have to be scrapped or sold.  

They are currently looking for a hands-on Technical Project Manager for the decommissioning project of this production facility.

Function description
  • You are responsible for planning and coordinating the gradual decommissioning of the production lines related to specific product lines which have been sold to another company.
  • You will in charge of determining which production lines can be transfered, kept as spare parts for existing production lines, or sold or scrapped altogether.
  • You will liaise with both internal stakeholders, such as operations, technical services (maintenance/manufacturing asset management/engineering), the product transfer project team and external stakeholders at the company which acquired the products, equipment resellers or suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. 
  • You communicate across multiple teams and plants, motivate all people involved and drive progress.
  • You report the progress of the decommissioning project and budgeting to the two Project Leads (Project Transfer - Project Team Manufacturing Asset Mgt).
  • You act as coach for the teams involved and share your knowledge.
  • You are responsible for planning of resources needed for the gradual decommissioning.
  • You take decisions in close collaboration with all stakeholders involved and ensure that deadlines are met.
Job requirements
  • You have a Bachelor or Master's degree in engineering
  • You have at least 5-10 years of experience with managing large projects/operations in the production industry
  • Previous experience with decommissioning production plants is a strong plus, as well as experience in the pharmaceutical sector
  • You combine your technical skills with your feeling for people management in large matrix organizations
  • You have excellent command of Dutch and English.
  • You are a strong communicator
  • You are hands-on and have a strong drive to get things done, involving and motivating all stakeholders involved
Offer

Full-time Interim Management Assignment of estimated to take 24-36 months.

Hybrid working is foreseen with 2 days remote and 3 days on site. 

Organizational and departmental definition

You will report both to the Project Lead in charge of the overall transfer of the sold product lines, and to Project Lead in charge of Manufacturing Asset Management.
