Our client is active in the sector of visual communication via printed materials such as banners, flags, POS material, both for indoor and outdoor. They are a leader in their field and their main markets are France, Belgium and the Netherlands. They realize a turnover of around 15M€. They are part of a large Belgian holding company, active in a variety of industries.

Due to the recent crises, with marketing communication being cut by many of their clients, they are facing challenging times and are going through an important transformation as a consequence. One of the keys to their continued success will be excellent controlling and cost accounting to identify better which activities are profitable and which ones are not. Therefore, they are looking for an experimented, hands-on CFO who will help them to optimize their bottom-line performance.

  • Drive the bottom line of the company by strict controlling and implementing a performant cost accounting (ABC) system to identify real cost drivers and optimize processes in close collaboration with the COO and the MD
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Set targets for and supervise accounting and finance team, consisting of 3 FTE
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
  • Drive company-wide budgetary planning
  • Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide reliable revenue and profit forecasts both for internal use and for the Group
  • Oversee the implementation of a new ERP which will be implemented in the coming months replacing the outdated current SAP
  • Financial resources and cash planning is less of an issue, as the company is part of a Group and this is mainly handled at corporate level

  • Master Degree in Applied Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as Finance Director in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Integrity and honesty
  • Analytical professional with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles as well as solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • Experienced people manager who can motivate and coach both internal and external stakeholders and contribute to a peak performance of the company
  • You are a native Dutch speaker with excellent knowledge of French
  • Strategic thinker, but at the same time a hands-on manager who can who can provide the management team, consisting of the Finance Director, Operations Director and the General Manager, the right information to make the most profitable decisions
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software, with preferably experience in implementing and supervising new ERP software which often implies significant transformation of existing processes, also in the finance department

A challenging long-term assignment (2-3 years) with one of the market leaders in this sector, going through an important transformation phase, for a self-employed Finance Director who will invoice through a management company.

You will be part of the management team and report to the MD and have a strong link also to the Group via the Board Member in charge of the Visual Communication segment.
