Quality Manager @Colruyt

Colruyt Group is a key player in the meat sector. To support their growth, the company is looking for a Quality Manager

As a strong and respectful people manager, you manage the quality of the meat transformation department of our client managing the quality policy and lead a team of 10 to 15 quality managers who ensure the safety and quality of the products.

Together with the team, you guarantee the safety and compliance of products and processes with legislation. You regularly carry out various quality tests and analyses in the laboratory.

Description de la fonction
  • You coach and support your team members (quality managers, quality employees and laboratory assistants) so that they can develop and feel satisfied with their work. You build a relationship of trust, ensure the necessary training and promote open communication within and outside your department.
  • With your team, you develop a proactive quality policy with the help of colleagues in the Production, Purchasing, Quality and Product Sustainability departments.
  • You organize your department in such a way that you can easily achieve the predefined objectives. You are also able to communicate your vision and strategy on an operational level.
  • You analyze and optimize existing working methods and processes, and take initiatives to further optimize your team's results. You analyze the figures and convert them into concrete action plans. In doing so, you collaborate with colleagues in production.
  • You develop an internal network, from management to operational team managers, and position your department to be involved in decisions and changes in the areas of food safety, product quality, etc.
  • You are the contact person for the production site managers and ensure a good collaboration between the departments. You will work closely with your fellow team managers.
  • You and your team are also the external contact point for food safety issues for confederations, certification and inspection bodies (OCI) and the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC).

  • You coach and develop your employees with the objective to set a real partnership with Production
  • You optimize existing working methods to increase efficiency maintaining the high quality standards for the products
  • Capacity to combine, simultaneously, daily operational tasks and a strategic vision
  • Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications


exigences de l'emploi
  • Master degree (e.g. bio-engineer) or equivalent experience. Familiar with food environment and safety is a big asset. At least 7 years’ experience in team management.
  • You are action-oriented and you like to put theory into practice, while motivating and inspiring your team. You take responsibility and raise issues in an honest and transparent manner.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • You represent our client to various external organizations. It is therefore important that you are confident and can negotiate in a diplomatic way.
  • Team player who works closely together with people from other departments.
  • You are hands-on and love to work on the shopfloor
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Working language is Dutch and you are fluent in French
