Product Quality Manager

This is not a pure Quality function. It is the objective of our Client to find the right person who will support the Operations Manager in his efforts to successfully launch a new product line.

The Product Quality Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving product quality on the shop floor. You will work closely with operators and foremen, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure that all products meet the highest quality and reliability standards. 

This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be actively involved in the production process, identifying issues, implementing solutions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Be present on the shop floor, actively engaging with operators in the different teams (sheet preparation, panels, corners, foamed-in doors & packing/picking) to monitor production processes and product quality.
  • Lead by example with a fair yet firm approach, setting clear expectations for performance, conduct, and adherence to standards. Foster a supportive team culture that values accountability, respect, and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching and training to operators on quality expectations, work instructions,  processes, and best practices to ensure consistent adherence to quality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with operators to maintain quality standards and minimize defects. Conduct regular inspections to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains. Implement improvements to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety standards among operators.

  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and lean principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coach, inspire and motivate teams.
  • Fair and consistent approach to management, with a focus on building trust and accountability.

  • You have excellent knowledge of both Dutch and French (oral & written).

This is a full-time Interim Management assignment of 2 – 3 months.

You are expected to display a certain flexibility in working hours so that, when needed, you come in early to start with the early shift or to end with the late shift

You will manage a shopfloor team of 40 operators, working in 2 shifts (5AM-1PM & 1PM-9PM)
