Supply Chain Officer

Our client is a family SME active in the food retail importing and distributing major Italian food products in Belgium.

To strengthen the operation department, our client is looking for a Supply Chain Officer

As a Supply Chain Officer, you are responsible for the management and optimization of several food supply flows (Wine, Dry, Fresh & Ultra Fresh products)

You are the key person answering to the logistical needs of each of the Company's departments

Objective:

The Supply Chain Officer keeps track of logistics and update the company’s inventory. You analyze operational performance and resolve issues. You also collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure that all operations (e.g., shipping, delivery) are properly executed and meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • You define the objectives of the supply chain in accordance with the company's strategy
  • You manage, improve and secure the company’s supply chain
  • You pilot the S&OP process (Sales and operations planning)
  • You identify, implement and monitor KPIs
  • You are responsible for purchasing from suppliers according to customer forecasts and ensure that safety stock levels are maintained
  • You maintain a network of quality suppliers and develop long-term relationships of trust by challenging them regularly
  • You monitor all logistics aspects to make sure they run smoothly including storage (outsourced)
  • You maintain good relationship with the customers. You are responsible for the follow-up of the orders (via EDI) and the good delivery to the customers (large Belgian distribution chains and owned stores)
  • You resolve issues that come up (e.g., delays in delivery, accidents)
  • You train and guide your team
  • You ensure that supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards

  • Combine the responsibilities of a purchasing and supply chain officer position.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic SME environment & young team

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in business management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Supply Chain in a retail environment
  • Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain
  • Being Hands-on and autonomous, you love to work for an SME (60 FTE)
  • Integrity and honesty
  • Strong negotiation skills (suppliers & clients)
  • Experienced people manager who can motivate and coach a team to peak performance
  • Strategic thinker and effective leader who can make the most profitable decisions
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with ERP (Navision is a plus)
  • You speak English & French fluently. Dutch or Italian is a plus

Interim management for 6 months minimum. Longer term perspectives can be considered
