EHS Manager

Our client is looking for an Interim EHS Manager, as the incumbent manager will be absent for a longer period.  As EHS Manager a.i. it will be your responsibility to ensure that the site, a Seveso High-tier, site continues to meet all European, Belgian, Flemish and corporate regulations and requirements with regards to safety, health and environment. In addition, you will head up the internal department of safety. 

Functieomschrijving

●    Monitoring compliance with laws and company's EHS procedures and requirements implemented.
●    Be compliant with the Seveso requirements and documentations: SWA-VR, O-VR, inspections of officials
●    Follow up all site expansion projects with a strong focus on process safety management
●    Advice from a Health & Safety and Environmental perspective in new projects, processes and installations
●    Engage in clear communications on EHS issues towards the whole organization
●    Lead Safety Meetings, Risk Assessments, Safety Walks / Inspections, Conferences, Kick-Off meetings. 
●    Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, concerns and unsafe conditions to prevent reoccurrence.
●    Ensures the site meets all the Belgian, Flemish and corporate requirements for safety and environmental related affairs 
●    Ensure that the Intervention Plan is kept up to date and have regular contacts hereabout with the local authorities.
●    Responsible for the "Internal Prevention Service" 
●    Zero tolerance versus waste water exceedances, air emissions and soil contamination
●    Take active part within the local Supply Chain Management team

Functie-eisen

●    Safety advisor level 1 and Environmental coordinator level A 
●    Engineering or chemical degree is a plus
●    Experience with Seveso regulations
●    Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word programs
●    Project Management experience is a plus
●    Excellent communication skills towards all levels within the organization
●    Problem solving capacities and creativity
●    Fluency in Dutch and English 
●    Self-starter
