Our client is a major retailer in Belgium with significant own food production capabilities, with business units which include amongst others meat, cheese and bread. They are are grouped together in a separate division. Through this craftsmanship, the group can work more efficiently, save costs, guarantee quality and create added value for its customers. Starting this fall, the division will start the implementation of a new ERP, which will be implemented by a specialist third party. As part of this implementation data and information management will play an even more important role.

Therefore they are looking for a Data Mapping and Information Specialist.

You ensure the data of all the different business/operational units within the food production activities is relevant, usable and reliable, both for units themselves as for other domains within the group.
You will be part of and supported by a network of information and data specialists within the group whose objective it is to create sustainable added value for the group’s operational units.
You will inform and exchange information about your own work to all stakeholders, adapted to the specific needs and roles of all stakeholders.
You translate business objectives and requirements into information and data requirements, based on your business knowledge and you can prioritize them, so that they effectively contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
You lead the design and realization of a data and information roadmap.
You identify causes and problems caused by data and information and solve these problems in collaboration with the involved stakeholders to ensure the continuity of operational and analytical processes.
You collect and report on KPIs regarding data and information objectives.
You correctly govern and describe data in collaboration with the business in order to:

- assure QEE (Quality, Effectiveness and Efficiency) of operational and analytical processes

- make data easily (re)usable for other applications

- assure the right level of quality and security of the data

You have min. a Bachelor, but preferably a Master degree and have a strong affinity with data management, but you do also have the necessary business acumen
You have at least 5 -10 years of experience, preferably with previous experience setting up data and information management in an industrial production environment and/or service center
You are able to work independently when required and to adapt frames of reference, methods and standards in situations where they are insufficient or lacking. You can modify, extend and/or complete them in line with the set direction for data driven working.
Your are capable of building up deep and/or broad expertise on information and data in a complex context, due to the velocity of data changes, volume, variability and diversity of data.
Your previous experience has learned you to get respect from your stakeholders for your expertise, both as as data and information specialist, but also as someone who understands business logic and drivers. This has allowed you to effectively mobilize the right parties to realize the proposed initiatives and raise overrall awareness of the imortance of information management.
You are a good listener and are able to create common ground and buy-in amongst managers and other stakeholders.
You have a good command of Dutch and French, both orally and written. English is a plus.

A key project for an experienced freelancer/Interim Manager with an estimated duration of 1-2 years in an organization in full (digital) transformation with strong reputation for quality, service and data driven initatives. As this position will remain a key role within their organization, our client is interested in offering you afterwards a permanent contract as employee.

Hybrid working is possible up to 2 days/week. This can consist of working from home, but also in one of the group’s regional offices (Mechelen, Haasrode, Merelbeke, Deinze…).

The latter will need to be discussed in more detail, as it will depend on concrete program requirements during implementation.

You will be part of the dedicated support office for the food production division, consisting of approx. 10 colleagues and will work in close partnership with both the internal and the external ERP program teams.
