As Construction Manager, you are the key figure between the construction site and the project team. You coordinate the execution, monitor planning, budget, and safety, and act as a liaison between the client, subcontractors, architects, and engineering. You work independently, are hands-on, and translate plans into concrete results on the construction site.
Planning & coordination
- Drawing up, monitoring, and adjusting the site schedule.
- Estimating margins and realistic feasibility (scaffolding, hoisting, concrete pouring, welding, assembly, backfilling, lay down areas, contractor villages, etc.).
- Coordinating with engineering and suppliers.
Budget & quality
- Monitoring costs and efficiency.
- Monitoring the quality of execution: order on the site, safety, organization, and compliance with agreements.
Problem-solving
- Thinking on your feet and offering pragmatic solutions thanks to your experience in execution.
- Using technical insight into civil engineering and construction processes to overcome obstacles.
Communication & collaboration
- Acting as a link between the client, architect, engineering, and contractors.
- Translating the dynamics on the construction site into achievable goals in terms of safety, quality, and progress.
Formal responsibilities
- Taking care of permitting and other legal obligations.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
